Your Garmin ZIP never leaves your browser. You do not need an invite code to preview your map. If you choose to share it, publishing uploads only generated map files and the public map expires after 30 days.

Step 1: Private preview

Start here with your Garmin account export ZIP. Everything in this step happens locally in your browser.

Log into Garmin Connect.
Open Garmin's account data export page.
Request your account export.
Garmin emails you when the download is ready. It often takes about 15-20 minutes, but can take up to 30 days.
Download the ZIP Garmin provides and upload it unchanged.

The ZIP usually has a generated name like a22756ef-76bc-4c8e-9407-5dea56a67a6b_1.zip.

Your Garmin export stays fully on this device while you preview, so your private health data is not sent anywhere. If you publish, only the map dots needed for the shared running footprint are saved on the server. The rest of your Garmin export stays local.

What to know before trying it

What file do I need?

Use the full Garmin account export ZIP from Garmin's data export page. Do not upload a single activity file, a Strava export, or a folder you zipped yourself.

Does my Garmin ZIP get uploaded?

No. The ZIP is processed locally in your browser for previewing. If you publish, the server receives only generated map files, not your raw Garmin archive or FIT files.

Can I preview without an invite code?

Yes. You only need an invite code to publish.

What is public after publishing?

The shared link shows your generated running footprint, display name, map statistics, and route-density points. Starts and finishes are trimmed before publishing.

How long does a public map stay online?

Published maps expire after 30 days. You also receive a private delete link after publishing so you can remove the map earlier.

Can I delete my map after publishing?

Yes. You get a private delete link after publishing.

Does it show my home address?

Starts and finishes are trimmed, but you should still review the preview before publishing.

Which activities are included?

Outdoor running activities with GPS tracks from the Garmin export.

Can I use Strava, GPX, TCX, or FIT files?

No. For now it expects the full Garmin account export ZIP.

Why do I need an invite code?

Publishing is invite-only for now so I can keep the beta small, watch for rough edges, and avoid opening the service wider than the current infrastructure is meant to handle.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. It's free and run within the free limits of Cloudflare.

How long does processing take?

Usually only a few seconds. It depends on the size of your Garmin export and your device, and the preview stays local while that happens.
